At The Sign Dude, our stickers are cut with machines following a path around the artwork. To properly set up a cut path, use a vector shape with a .25 pt stroke in 100% magenta spot color. The cut path can have no sharp corners. Our standard corner radius is 1/8”. The minimum corner radius is .04”.
To set-up, the correct color, create a new color in your palette with the following color build: C-0%, M-100%, Y-0%, K-0%. Change the color type from a “process color” to a “spot color”. Now give this color swatch a name of “CutContour”. Following these steps will give you a cut path color to use. Now, wherever this color is assigned to a line the machine will cut your file.
